Howard is a delightful community located about 15 minutes from Salida. The majority of the residents are retired or self-employed.
It is located in the Big Horn Sheep Canyon and is in the valley between the Arkansas River and the beautiful Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range.
Most of the properties in the area range from 2 to 5 acres with some even being 35 to 40 acres.
The altitude is approximately 6500 ft. so you can grow large vegetable gardens and have fruit trees as long as the well permit allows for that.
